My Bichon who is now 8 had cataract surgery on both eyes two summers ago. I took her back to the doctor today and unfortunately she has retinal detachment in one eye. I feel terrible for her because for the six months or so she had cataracts in both eyes and was basically blind she was such a different dog. Of course I'm terrified that the other eye will go too (the doctor told me he was hopeful it wouldn't since it had been so long since surgery, but that Bichons were a breed where retinal detachment was more common). Just wondering if anyone else out there has gone through this.
