I like Copper. too cute and yup, always makes me think of Fox and the Hound. love the movie, Please post pics soon!!
I have a terrier mix zoey because I love that name and my husband wouldnt let me name our daughter that, lol and my little rat terrier mix, he's Reggie. Or as he as more often called "Mr Handsome." lol
Funny, you spend so much time and effort in naming your new furry baby, only to end up calling em something totally different most of the time. lol

Knowing the family my parents got Wilma from, I'd venture to say that they're decidedly NOT knowledgeable about Hackamore Brick.

i also like singing songs to my pets that have their names in them (or that i can change to have their names in them) and i thought maybe other people do and might like to hear some new ones!

i call all the animals pookie on occasion so my latest song is "my my my pookie face, my my pookie face".

i wouldn't have assumed lucy in the sky with diamonds for lucy except that their other dog is named ringo! it seems like there's a theme there. i'd be curious to know if i'm right.
I sing Cracklin' Rosie to my Rosie....Oh, I love my old Rosie dog! LOL Before I adopted Beatrice, I decided I needed another girl so I could name her Caroline and sing Sweet Caroline. I loved the name Beatrice so I made Caroline her middle name. LOL

I love old lady names for beagles.

I have a dog that came from the Humane Society with the name "McKenzie" she knew her name and didnt seem to have a negative history with it....so we kept it. I have grown to love the name and the way the McK sound catches in the throat....very distinctive. She comes when called better than any dog I have ever known. (We had a westie named "Cricket"....again that c-k sound....I really like it.)

We recently adopted a little beagle girl named "Allie"; we thought about changing it....but again....the foster mother who had been so good to her had named her...so it was a totally positive association for her....we didnt love the name.....but Love her....and have grown to like the name.

I hear that it isnt hard to teach a dog a new name.....but unless the old name had baggage with it....I accept them as t hey come. I did have one dog whose original family had been abusive to her so had no trouble giving her a fresh start as "Hannah". That is a name I would never re-use....the amount of love attatched to that name....would make it impossible.....besides I still talk to Hannah....and my eyes well up each and every time I say it. "Love is Forever"....."It is a fearsome thing to love that which death can touch!"
