Yep~~ including horses as well as human beings ( HC providers get exposed to a lot of unhinged patients). Thankfully I was so UTD on all immunizations..and knew the immunizations of each animals/including the human ..I only had to deal with the bite..Just love the Polysporin ung (Ointment) as it sure as the cure for all cuts/abrasions!! Even to this day, I always keep a tube of that stuff in my dresser drawer!!
I'm only thankful, I never got bitten by a wild animal..because the Rabies test was horrendous going back that far!!
If you ever get bitten by an animal, and you know who their owner is..Please check into that animal's immunization records..It will certainly bring a lot less stress/worrying about possible Rabies!!
As a little kid yes but only once. I sneaked up on a grumpy old dog my parents had and yelled boo and he in turn sunk his teeth into my knee and bit down. Yes it bled and left a scar.
My mom yelled at me instead of the dog and told me to never sneak up on a dog like that. She washed the bite off real good ( no doctor involved). This was back in the early 60's and at least where I grew up dog bites were never made out to be big deal. I think all my siblings got bit by the same dog and we each learned how to treat a dog and respect a dogs space and not one of us was ever afraid of a dog even that one. I thank my mom for that as she made it seem like no big deal so it wasn't. We all grew up to be dog owners too.
Yes, but I probably shouldn't have shoved my hand in her mouth when she tried to attack my dog. She felt bad and my dog deserved to to bitten but I have insurance and my dog didn't. My hand ached for a couple days but no issues otherwise.
