We finally took her to her new vet...she kept shaking her head, whining and scratching at her ears.
Poor puppy (nearly a year old!) has a yeast infection in her ears.
We have 2 medicines to treat it.
So--if you have a dog who does this...you might like to bring him or her to vet...!
ONe of my (deceased now) dogs got this infection and shook her head so hard she broke a blood vessel in the ear and got a hematoma. It had to be drained and stitched up. Bow, was it a mess and I felt so bad for her! Good warning for people to not ignore symptoms.
Yes, we noticed she was shaking her head a lot, yelping. Not just water in the ears.
She still ate fine, went to her training class, ran around so it was hard to tell (kind of like when your kids are 'sort of' cranky and you think they may be getting sick..)
It's going to be a messy cleanup according to the vet (gunk will come out). I just want my pup to get better. She's sleeping next to me...
Awww...poor guy! They can be painful! Dogs with large floppy ears are prone to such...my 2 Goldens are good examples. We live in a very humid climate and they are in the pool constantly, so their ears never dry out! I have to keep on them and clean them or they develop infections. Thankfully, these infections can be cleared up relatively fast with a little hydrogen peroxide and then some Panalog (prescription).
I keep a tube of Panalog and use it on my dogs for ear infections. Usually the vet prescribes this and I have always gotten an extra one to keep on hand.

Floppy-eared dogs have this problem. A preventive measure is to put cotton balls to keep ears dry when bathing.
I had used an antifungal to eradicate it. Plucking the ear hairs also help.
I have one of the highest prone to ear infections (bloodhounds) and do not feed top line food and have rarely any problems as clean ears every 1 - 2 weeks. I think it is funny everyone blames it on food,just like skin problems and with wrinkles my hounds have knocking on wood never had them problems either. I do not feed generic crap but not all meat either.
Well, in general, What I Believe...
Healthier Food for Humans= healthier humans, stronger immune systems etc.
Healthier Food for Dogs/Cats= healthier pets... etc
Doesn't Mean that it Is from food, but It has Been My experience that many aliments have been from foods. In general our bodies release internal toxins, from inside our body through the outside via Skin and ears, vomiting, etc.
But these are my opinion, but also My experiences.
