that's funny!

I sometimes leave the halter on my dog for a while after we come home from walking so he's even been wearing it around the house some...

My dog doesn't mind it if I put dog clothes on him, either. In fact, he acts like he thinks he's pretty special when we put something on!

You mentioned that Dave also doesn't like wearing dog shirts. So, apparently Dave is pickier about wearing stuff in general.

What kind of dog is Dave?

his momma is a lab, or predominatly lab mix..... this we know because she and her litter (dave and his siblings) were turned into the shelter when the pups were 1 day old......

have NO IDEA who his daddy is ..... but i suspect there is a LOT of boxer.... he is staying VERY lean and he bounces and leaps when he is running and playing.... reminds a LOT of a deer..... ..... he also uses his front legs to play like a boxer does......

the day he joined our family:

at the dog park:

a tired dog is a GOOD dog.....

Willie eventually gets acclimated to the sensation of every harness we've tried, and still ends up pulling when he wants to (i.e. when a squirrel or rabbit runs out). With centuries of breeding to trail these animals, I'm skeptical that anything's really going to eliminate or even slightly curb the drive to do this. But, with the harnesses, at least there's no horrible choking when he does pull, like with his collar. Good enough for me. I'm so done with fighting the battle of, "Oh, no, you WON'T try to take off after that rabbit if I don't say so!" and feeling like I'm just not a good disciplinarian because my beagle (shocker) innately bolts after small wildlife. Because, uh, yes, he will try to bolt after that rabbit, every time, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with me or what I do or don't do or what contraption I put on him.

Plus, I just plain don't care, to be honest. I know when I walk him, that he'll want to give chase to any small animal that darts in our path. But he's not going anywhere, regardless of what he wants, so he can pull all he likes, lotsa luck with that. He's safely on leash, and not choking himself, and that's all I really care about. He's not so big that I can't easily manage any tugging.
