my sweet little dog was hit by a car this weekend. The person(s) who did this, just kept going. They were full aware they hit him, and knew he was hurt. But they chose not to stop and try and help him, to be with him, or to read our phone number off his tags. I cant forgive them for that. It wasnt her fault, and my heart aches for her for having to have those visions of what happened. But thank goodness for her good and loving heart in doing all she could to help him. Oh my gosh, did your dog survive the hit? I'm so sorry. You must be devastated either way, but I sure hope he/she made it through. Not stopping to help a domesticated animal that's been hit is just vile.

no, he did not make it. He survived the initial blow, and through the night, but i took him to the vet in the morning and due to the damage done to him, we had to put him to sleep. I did a thread for him in the Rainbow Bridge forum....
And for them not to stop, they didnt have the excuse of heavy traffic. There were hardly any vehicles on the road, smaller town, wide shoulders and they had numerous empty parking lots of businesses all around...they just chose not to stop.
