I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another!

Beesley developed a swollen eyelid last night. I have no idea what could have happened!

This morning, it appears to have gone down a LITTLE bit, but it's still very apparent.

He doesn't scratch it, and when I touch it, he doesn't have any kind of reaction. It almost seems like a blister.

What do you think it could be?

Does the eye look irritated at all or just the lid? Any discharge?

From your photo it looks localized.

Spider bite perhaps? Do dogs get styes?

Spider bite?
No. I thoroughly inspected the eye last night and everything looks fine except the eyelid.

No discharge.

my first thought is some sort of insect bite or sting..... they can be TINY and very difficult to see ..... especially through fur, sparse as it may be there..... and i imagine their eyelids are every bit as sensitive as ours, which might account for swelling out of proportion to if he had been bitten or stung elsewhere on his body......

poor little beezie..... and poor ma .... sending you both huggz .....

man oh man .... its been a tough spring for our c-d puppers.....

My guess would be an insect bite too. Or maybe something to do with the eyelashes?
Hope Beesley gets better soon!

I got one of those one summer ago. It was an insect bite. Lots of funny comments from friends that I found funny too but only because it wasn't painful!

If it is not the eye itself, and no discharge....I agree...looks like an insect bite...Just keep an eye on it for any change...Guessing it will just go back to normal on it's own. See what it is like when you get home this afternoon. (Any excuse to see the "cutie" vet!)

Alright, so if it's a spider bite, now what? Does it go away on its own?

I have no money to give to the "cutie" vet, so Beeze is just going to have to heal on his own, like the hot spots

This ointment is available; looks like it covered a range of issues and it has a video too!
