Hi,
I just got a 4 month old pup from a shelter. His name is Bo and I was wondering if you all could help me figure out what breed or breeds he is. I'm thinking beagle mixed with something. My vet thinks a hound mix. He doesn't seem to have a hound kind of bark, meaning there isn't any howl. But, he's young yet. Someone said maybe mastiff and rotti mix. He's a real sweetheart and listens well. Potty trained easy, hopefully I'm not jinxing it. I've had him a week and he's only had two accidents in the house.
I'm just curious to know what my little guy is going to grow into. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Bo is beautiful!! Congrats on your new pup! Could he have some Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in him? He looks bigger boned than a beagle to me.....check out this picture of a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and see what you think:

My gosh, he's beautiful. My first thought was that he's a beagle mix but after looking at the helpful site Rottnboys posted, I wonder if he could have some Mtn dog in him. Hard to tell now b/c the weight and size doesnt really come thru in a pic. Sounds like a smart puppy, definitely cute.

My first thought, with that head, was a Bernese Mountain Dog mix.

I'll go against the flow here and guess he's part Treeing Walker Coonhound.

Thank you all for the replies. I looked at the Greater swiss mountain dog. Other than the white on the muzzle its pretty close. He sure is a cutie though. He seems to be real intelligent, he stops what he's doing when you tell him no. Unless it's biting on my golden retreiver. Whatever he grows into he seems like he will be a wonderful dog. I'm glad I was at the right place at the right time. I just couldn't pass up that face. He'll grow into his nose someday.
Thanks again!
