Oops forgot to post Mollys pic anywhere.
Well here she is, my princess...nay...the Queen.
She won't wear a tiara or crown, she doesn't like to muss
her coif.

So yeah safe to say she's the queen.

My sista in dog-love! This cracked me up - you're a kindred spirit. My life looks eerily similar x3 (for the 2 princesses and the prince)...

As to corralling cats that's a bit tough but I do recommend the pet "bug out" bag.
So the only worry you have is catching your kitties.
Good to have the carrier put together and ready to go.
Molly's bag and kennel is kept in the back hall above the water storage. In a moment I can grab the bag, put in several Poland Spring bottles and go.
I keep individual containers of food in the bag so she has a bowl to eat from if needed. They can also nest in each other when empty.
I rotate the food when I fill my big dog food container.

I did the same for my lads. You are a well-prepared dog mom!

Thanks!
Honestly I'm the lucky one. Molly was adopted 12 years ago and it's been a joy sharing "her" house.
LOL she's here all the time, I keep leaving to go to work
Realized I needed to be prepared for leaving with Molly after a co-worker was flooded out during a nor'easter several years back. The waters rose so fast they had no time to get out till it was too late. The were evacuated from their flooded house to a shelter but were told the dogs couldn't enter. They had no car (it was back at flooded house) but a good soul let them use their van to stay in the parking lot of the shelter with the dogs to ride out the tail end of the storm.
Needless to say after her ordeal I vowed that in the event of anything Molly would come first and I prepared for that.
LOL sometimes I think that Molly would call me and say "umm time to get, get the bags, load the car...we're outta here". Around the house she's an in charge pupster.

Not to totally derail this thread, but the worry about corralling kitties in an impending disaster - we have our indoor/outdoor kitties trained to come when I whistle. It's easy to do - start it around the house - and in the yard - reward with kitty treats or wet food. I also have the kitties trained to come home at pre-set times (special kitty food is their reward - wet).

NY Annie that's a great idea. This way they will be easier to corral if needed.
