Hope everyone there is alright. I lived there for 3 years and it pains me to see the devastation.

Some of the pictures online look like it was a hurricane that ripped through.

I am so sorry to hear about flooding. The first thing I look for when searching for a place to live is the topography. Our first home used to get the back yard filled when we got only an inch of rain in an hour. I hope everybody gets to dry land safely. Be careful the next time you locate.

We just got back from Tofte. The guy at the resort had driven up there from Duluth and said it wasn't bad--boy was he wrong. I just posted some photos on the MN photo page of some of the rivers we saw and one of the washed out side roads we came across. I wish we had stayed put but all of the phone lines, cell phone towers and the internet were out up there and no way to confirm the guy's story. It's a mess.

The city is a mess we spent all day helping friends, everyone has a new indoor pool and river front property.

It's going to take a lot of money and time to put things back together as almost every street suffered some damage. Buildings were lost and we have yet to know exactly how much damage was done.

More rain yet tonight
