I'm looking for a cheap motel in Duluth. I need a quiet place to get some sleep before an early morning medical appointment; any suggestions? If you've had friends/family stay in a place in the $50 or less range and they left without bedbugs or an awful experience please let us know. Thanks.

The Days Inn Lakewalk just opened across from the Edgewater. You'd likely get a room there for under $50.

Days Inn my be affordable but it is not that cheap. You're looking at around $70/night there or more.

Nowadays to find a room for under $50 a night, you need to look at the mom and pop places or maybe Motel 6. Most chains are no longer that inexpensive.

The Days Inn Lakewalk is brand new and currently has very low occupancy. You're bound to get a very good rate if you call.

Maybe that's true, but looking online at the Days Inn site, their rates are still over $60 a night. You can't even get a room at the one by the mall for under $50; and yes, I have stayed there multiple times.

Motel 6 in the West End is usually cheap. Rates from $44 (I've seen them as low as $30).
