Just saw on the DNT that Pretzelmaker will be opening in the Miller Hill Mall where Cinnabun once was. Also, the Target interior remodel is complete, and the new market area looks amazing.

I have heard that BWW is looking at BOTH the Miller Hill Mall area and Canal. I am sure they would only open in one place, at least at first. There is no room in Canal right now for them and that is the issue. The have been some rumors going around that it is still going into the Gander Mt space.
Glad to hear that finally there will be some work going on at Duluth Hill!
Thats interesting that it is going where Mrs. Fields was. The mall website says it is going where Whitehall was. Glad to see that there will only be one space left in the food court later this year. That is if Chicken Now actually opens up shop here!
Targets remodel is great! The landscaping is gorgeous and so lush. I love the new grocery section. I am really glad to see we have the energy, motion sensored, freezers. It's kind of fun walking down a freezer aisle and have the lights start turning on as you walk past the freezers. Really like the signage at Target too. It seems so weird to me that Target spent all this money remodeling the interior and exterior parking lots and then didnt touch the exterior of the store. They are going to have to remodel the exterior in the next five years to keep the store from looking dated. That means they would have tear up the newly poured sidewalks and planted trees next to the store. Or maybe they just dont plan on remodeling the exterior soon... In the end, I am very happy with out Targets interior and landscaping. I for sure will be doing some of my grocery shopping at the Target grocery section.

Hey everyone - have been gone for a while, but sounds like some exciting stuff going on. So excited about Texas Roadhouse - one of my favorite restaurants. We just love it there!
Really hoping BWW will go somewhere - I don't know how much longer I can hold out.
There was some bad news today, in the Cloquet Pine Journal newspaper regarding the Superior Crossing development. Sounds like they didn't approve some permits, because RE-COR stopped making payments. Not sure what that was all about, but here is the article:
Cloquet City Council denies RE-Cor study for proposed development along I-35 and Hwy 33 | Pine Journal | Cloquet, Minnesota

They are scouting out a location at the moment. There are rumors that it will be in Canal Park and then there are rumors it will be in the Miller Hill Mall area. Back last year they had signed on for a space in the old Gander Mt space but then pulled out. So yes they are coming to Duluth, but we do not know exactly when.

I just spoke to an employee of the Miller Hill Mall a couple days ago and they confirmed that BWW is in negotiations to put their store at the mall. This would be a huge draw for the mall.

I wonder if it is for the Champs space... It could be for the streetscape space also. That is a pretty large space. That would be awesome if they went in the old Champs space! BWW does such nice remodels on stores opening in pre built buildings. I agree it would be a huge draw for the mall.

Another theory-rumors of Great American closing, that is another great space for them. Although I consider BWW mediocre at best, it is still a place that is new to the Duluth market. My "dream" for the entire front of the mall would be Old Country Buffet, Applebee's and Great American to move to strip malls(in the cities, all OCBs are in strip malls and Applebees are moving from malls into their own buildings), and replacing them with more upscale stores and restaurants.

The info I had was that All American was planning on closing but have renewed their lease so BWW may go in where Champs is at now. They are already moving to a new spot in the mall soon.

Hmm.... it surprises me that Grandmas didnt close the Great American before the West End Grandmas... I think that the Great American wont make it through the next year... They can always terminate a lease early and just pay a charge. It depends on if BWW goes in Champs, because that could cause the mall to raise the price of rent for the GA space..
