We should not have to move to the Twin Cities to get services to meet our needs. Duluth/Superior more than meets the requirements for many of the stores discussed moving here. If frickin Elk River can have a Chipotle, why not us?

Elk River borders the Twin Cities. Duluth does not. That gives Elk River some advantages.

There is another forum that discusses the Twin Cities vs. the Twin Ports. I would hope this does not become one of those forums. It may make sense that a community boarding on the Twin Cities has a Chipotle, but there are other metros the same size as the Twin Ports that have services we do not. For instance, the Fargo-Moorhead metro has two Buffalo Wild Wings and as of the moment we are just getting one.

Drove by Culvers last night. They are now grading around the foundation that is now put in place! I am assuming they are getting the site ready so they can pour the parking lot. I also saw that they started getting the entrance road from Mall Drive ready.
Also, Texas Roadhouse already has pictures hanging inside! When I drove by last night I could see in and its already being decorated in spots. The parking lights were on last night too, it made that whole area look totally different. They give off white light, not yellow like the rest of the mall area before the mall. I am very excited for TR to open!

The Super One in Lakeside is really moving along! Superior St side of the building has the expansion walls almost done and the inner parking lot expansion looks like walls are being started today. That's going to be great for Lakeside. When I lived there, there were many occasion where I couldn't find something and had to go to Mount Royal to find it. Hopefully this allows them to expand their inventory.

You'll love the pictures that are being hung inside the Roadhouse, they are actually hand painted murals that the managing partner gets to pick out and help design. They all involve the community or have something to do with Minnesota. I wont tell what they are yet but their amazing!! Cant wait for the store to open. It's been a long six months and we're ready to work!! Let me know where some of you work so I can drop off fresh baked bread for you! (after we open of course)

I am SO excited about the Texas Roadhouse opening. I drove by the other night when I got done working at midnight, and people were still working in there. I've been telling everyone I know how great this is going to be for Duluth. It will be good to have two options on Duluth Hill, for sure! Texas Roadhouse is awesome, and the food is terrific.

This isn't about a store coming to duluth, but a store leaving. Baja Billy's in the Fitgers Complex closed up shop yesterday according to the local news.

I know! That seemed to come out of nowhere! It was definitely a regular spot for me. Nice, relaxed place to hang out and play pool and some tasty appetizers.
