I was surprised by Jenny Craig. Didnt know that was coming at all.

I did see all the trees are down now where Residence Inn is going. It looks very open. The site has a slope towards the back... I am wondering if the plan on bringing in fill dirt to raise it or what they will do. I also am curious to see if a restaurant signed on. It seems as if that was the only thing holding the site from starting construction.

Also DAC Deli and the Tech Village is closing next month. Saw that in an advertisement for their space in the newspaper. Their space is an absolutely perfect space for Chipotle. It cant get more perfect then that space. The AD though seems as if it is advertising towards more local businesses.

And on Target... so there will be no major remodeling? I was really excited for a major remodel. No Starbucks then? No new entrance or anything?

I will trade both DAC Delis for the original Duluth Athletic Club restaurant on 4th Ave. W, that was one of my favorite newer restaurants in Duluth.

I emailed DEDA regarding many of the proposed commercial developments of the last couple years and was told many of them are either dead or on hold because of the economy. I emailed the Duluth News Tribune, too, they never respond.

Great news about TKO finally clearing (and hopefully) getting started on that project.

Also, APEX is working on business deals all the time. You can keep tabs on their projects in their monthly newsletters. Here's October: http://www.apexgetsbusiness.com/eNew...ct%20%2708.pdf

No major remodel of the exterior or expansion. The interior will be updated with the newest signing, like the ones found in Super Targets, and the grocery will be expanded, but not to the extent of fresh produce or deli. The Starbucks is not out of the question, but it's hard to say where it would go as the store is already pressed for space.

The new landscaping will look much better though, and will coincide with all the work being done on the roads surrounding Target.

I drove by Residence Inn's site today and all the equipment was gone and nothing was being done. There are still trees everywhere on the ground, and some standing. Whats up with that?

Wow APEX is great! I never new about that site!

Well if Target cant expand or do anything major then Target really needs to pursue opening a Super Target location in Duluth. I feel like Duluth is long over due for one. In the Twin Cities there is one or two in every town basically. Near where my sister lives in a 15 minute drive four Super Targets have opened in the last year. Why doesnt Duluth deserve one?

Target wants to put in a super target but they don't have a site for one. The closest site would be up past the airport, thats too far from the main shopping area. They were looking at the site across form RJ Sport & Cycle, but it was to far up the road.

If we can come up with a scheme to get rid of K-Mart, then they'd have a nice lot to use ;-)

Yeah its a shame there is no room left on the Duluth side of the shopping area. The way things are going, Superior will get a Super Target before Duluth. They already got the Super Wal-Mart. If only there was room for the Duluth Target to expand. The sales volume, and not to mention all the Canadians that come and shop, really make the case if it were not for the land constrictions.

I wonder if there's room along Trinity? The way that road has been built, it seems it was designed to host a new area of commercial.
