The mall would need a lot of land and would most likely have to go all the way back to blackman avenue and there would have to be entrances on that road.

I'm sure we all saw in the DNT about Arie coming to the Miller Hill Mall. That will help clear up one of the vacant spots in the mall that are popping up now.
The remodel of Target now has a start and end date. It is set to start on May 4th, and be completed by July 8th with the grand reopening set for July 12th.

The remodel is now for sure, but is not extensive as previously thought. There will not be an addition of Starbucks, and the exterior will not be remodeled, but will receive the new landscaping designs. The interior will get new tile, drop ceiling, signing, and new registers. The market/food will be expanded from 36 aisles to 55 aisles and include aisles of cooler/freezer space. Electronics/movies and books will be expanded by 5 more aisles. There will be some rearranging of merchandise but no expansion of the building sadly.

Wait so there will not be a total remodel of the interior as previously planned? What about the exterior? Anything going to be changed out there? Was an expansion of the building originally planned?

Anybody notice this in the Tribune under property transactions? "Commercial bare land, Members Cooperative Credit Union purchased from Seaway Port Authority of Duluth for $97,500, 12/08" May not be anything, but I wonder what land Members Cooperative would be purchasing from the Port Authority? The only land I know of that authority controls is Garfield Ave lots and the airpark off of Haines Rd. What would MCCU need land in any of those areas for?

I remember a while back that MC had bought land next to HOM Furniture to build a new credit union... maybe they backed out of that and instead want to build up in the airpark.... which would seem very weird. I honestly dont know why.

I know why (insider info, remember) Member's is moving their call center from the Dewitt Building in Canal Park to the airpark. They are sitting on the land near home (cost abut $800,000) and have taken over the Members Service Center in the Firestone building rather than building a new Credit Union near HOM.

Why are they not building a new branch next HOM? The economy? I was really excited for that Branch! Might they still one day?

Well, this is an interesting one! My mom just called me to ask me what restaurant is going in on London Road! I said "I have no clue - tell me more" of course
She said that she was at the hairdresser, and they said that the Chalet had been sold to a restaurant, and that they were trying to acquire a neighboring property as well. She got the impression that it was not a fast food restaurant, but a regular sit down restaurant.
I'm going CRAZY! Does anyone know anything about this? It looked like the property had been for sale through Coldwell Banker/East West.
