We did not misunderstand.

Perhaps we should be optimistic that it will be successful instead of already talking about failure. I think these restaurants will be successful in Duluth and failure isn't even an issue to me.

This is going to be my last post here and my last visit to this site - I'm giving you a link to look at. We have a Dave and Busters opening here. Now this is something you guys should be looking to lobby to get. It's different and with Duluth now being basically a college town and a tourist destination, it would do good there. It's fun and the food is good. Face it.... Duluth doesn't have alot going for it with the people you have in power there. Farewell and good luck.

I've been to a Dave & Busters here in the Atlanta Metro, and it's actually quite a fun place if you like food and arcade games.

Now the Hermantown Walmart is on hold again because of the slow permit process and the economy. That to me is a bunch of bull because that store is always busy. They need to get on with the new store asap because the old one is a piece of crap and I will shop more at Target.

Chublake, I would still appreciate your comments on my threads. Your opinion is still valued and you do give some helpful information. Please still check in once in a while and see the new developments occuring within Duluth! We all have our own opinions and we need to not let others opinions anger us so much.

I am very, very, very familar with Dave and Busters. I too agree that Dave and Busters would do wonderful in the Duluth market. Another poster on this thread suggested that they go into the old Gander Mountain building. I myself couldnt think of a better site for them! That is unless the mall does an expansion with a movie theater as a part of it. I would love to see a Dave and Busters in Duluth.

Where did you see that about the permit issue and Walmart?? I hope they can get through this issue as quickly as possible. That Hermantown Walmart is disgusting and needs to be remodeled or demolished as soon as possible. I wont ever shop there due to the dirtyness of the buidling, that is until it becomes a Supercenter. As far is it goes right now, I am a Target fan, and an even bigger fan of Super Target!

Did anyone see the post on Buzz Duluth about Culvers?? As if we didnt know a Culvers was coming to Duluth over a year ago.... Go Us.

I saw the Walmart situation on the news tonight. WDIO to be exact. They said that the process to get the permits are taking to long and the economy is hurting right now. Now they say the store wont get the remodel until 2010. This is very sad because even if the economy is hurting them right now it is only temporary and they are going to need this new store anyway for future growth and this store needs to grow and become new again or I wont step foot in the door.

I will be furious if the walmart project gets put on hold again. So far I can't find any additional confirmation of this news.

ComeToDuluth you might want to try and call the city of Hermantown. They said on the news that Walmart sent them an e-mail stating the delay in construction.

That wouldn't make any sense. Wal-mart is thriving in this economy the sales are higher than ever. There would be no reason for a delay

I am not saying you are wrong abrockman and I do believe you... but it still seems little weird to me. Like ComeToDuluth said, Walmart is doing amazing right now and is expanding rapidly. They are gaining sales everyday as people turn to them for the savings they will recieve when buying their items. It seems so weird that Walmart would delay its Supercenter remodel in Hermantown. I am wondering if it is for sure or if it is a possibility and this is Walmart's way of getting their permits to be passed quicker by threatening Hermantown. But maybe they dont think a Supercenter remodel is necessary being there already is a Walmart in Hermantown. That could possibly be their reasoning. They may be postponing our store remodel so they can open a new store somewhere else in the country instead of remodeling our current store. But I also have seen tons and tons of bids for remodels of Walmarts all across the country. They still are being submitted as we speak and even for stores that just remodeled less than three years ago. So I think Walmart is trying to get the ball moving quicker and maybe threatening Hermantown... But who knows! I am going to check the news and look for what you saw! Thanks for the news.
