No, the Duluth Target is not expanding, it will remain with the same dimensions. It is expanding on the sales floor with the subtraction of 4 check lanes for more shelf space, but it won't be adding onto the building or anything like that.
What I know about the Superior Target is that it won't be a Super Target or a P-Fresh store, but will get more a cosmetic upgrade, and become more what the Duluth Target is currently.

No one ever is at the Superior Target. I dont understand why they even would put money into that store. The majority of people in that town clearly shop at Walmart Supercenter. Have you heard anything on the Cloquet Super Target?

Went to Target today! Saw the remodeling happening. I cannot believe they are adding fresh produce and meats! That is great! They said they are moving the Grocery store back to were the seasonal space is right now and that it will encompass a large amount of that side wall. They also have the new cash registers which are very nice. I am excited for the changes to come!
Also the planning commission tabled the Culver's plan.

Why would they table the Culvers deal. What is there to think about. I really do not like the Duluth Planning Commission. They overthink everything and are not for development at all.

I have no idea why they tabled the Culvers deal. I mean honestly what is there even to fight against for that site. It is a site with no trees and is merely a gravel car lot that is used some times. Its not hurting the environment at all. And it is not going to impact traffic at all. I swear sometimes that the Planning Commission just gets bored and just makes things harder for retailers and businesses. I thought a planning commission is for development, not against it.

Duluth is probably the largest city in the country without a Culvers, Two Harbors and Superior have one! You people ought to flood the planning commission with letters about this stuff. Being development friendly is especially important in this economy.

Keith hamre is the hea dof the planning commission, and he is a reasonable guy. I have met him a few times. Here is a link to their website. I'm sure you can find an e-mail or phone number there. Personally, I think Culvers is gross and their burgers make me feel sick. So, I don't care if one is built or not. However, I care more about the business friendly perception factor involved.

Site work and new construction of a national chain fast food restaurant in Duluth. Schematic plans call for the construction of an approximately 4,000-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru window.
This project is still subject to city approvals. A firm timeline for construction has yet to be established. No inquiries are being accepted at this time.

Here is the bid for Culvers! It says that they would start in August 2009... I thought they were suppose to start sooner... even in May. Is the planning commission really holding them up this much?

Just heard some interesting news. Menards in Hermantown has a tenant committed to building on one of its outlots! Anyone know what might be building there?
