Just a little update on Five Guys! They hope to open October 1st. They said plans are well underway and they hope to start construction over the next 30-45 days. I'm assuming if it starts in 45 days it might be delayed a bit, but at least it's still coming! YAY!

Oh, also - the Miller Hill Mall Five Guys will not have an inside entrance. It will be directly adjacent to Coldwater Creek.

When you say adjacent, do you the first space next to Coldwater Creek on the streetscape?

I think so - he said it will be right next to it. Guess I should have asked him which space for sure

So, that leaves the mall with one space left in the "redevelopment"? Chipotle? Noodles&Co.? Williams Sonoma? Also, Dress Barn in the main mall?-only in Duluth! Your Talbots and Chico's are in a pretty lame development, too upscale for white walled concrete block Stone Ridge. But as I just said, only in Duluth!

Well see the problem is, the redevelopment was not finished or even started when Talbots and Chico's entered the Duluth market. The mall was completely full and there were no spaces available in the Miller Hill Mall area either. So what happened was Chicos forced Austin Jarrow to move so that they could open in their space. Tablots forced LA Restaurant to leave its space also so that they could take that spot. If the redevelopment was already built when both Chicos and Talbots were entering Duluth, I am completely sure they would have opened in it next to Coldwater Creek. Those three stores always open in the same centers. But the problem is, it wasnt. And they had already signed a lease and forced two retailers to move so that they could open in Stone Ridge. Stone Ridge has a plan for that strip center. They are trying to slowly renovate it along with its tenants. They would like it to be a high end strip center for women. I myself dont think that will happen.. But I could see Chicos and Talbots moving to the mall when their leases are up at Stone Ridge.

Williams Sonoma would be great for the last space in the redevelopment, that is if it is the space next to Coldwater. All they would have to do is paint it white and it would match the William Sonoma requirements for their storefronts. Noodles is looking in Duluth and so is Chipotle! So many we can get all three!

I was wondering if anybody else has heard any rumors as to what might be going in the Champs space at the mall? My uncle is a "mallwalker" and spends a great deal of time up there. He talks to the management and various merchants often, and said that he has heard Sharper Image may be going into the Champs spot. He said he doesn't know for sure, but that's what people have told him.

Wondering if CrystalIce or someone else has heard anything like that?

OK, I just searched online for a list of locations, and it appears they have, or are in the process of closing all locations (selling the products at other large retailers). He said it was a store that sells gadgets. I said "Sharper Image", and he said "yeah, I think it was something like that". Hmm, either a REALLY bad rumor, or no idea what it could be!?

Oh my gosh - if it's a doller store, I'll scream - LOL
