I wonder how much the new road work will play into their decision on building around the mall area and how the business will be affected by it. There are definitely options available around the mall - the area that Nevada Bob's is going into. I don't think they would go into the Burning Tree Plaza, but you never know.

I know the official MSA only includes Stearns and Benton. Sherburne is now part of the TC Metro, but part of St Cloud is actually in Sherburne county...it doesn't make sense.

Duluths metro is larger than St. Clouds. Its a known fact. And we also just gained two new counties into our metro. I dont really think they would go into Burning Tree being they have extremely strict requirements to meet in order to have one built. But Maple Grove Square, the place Nevada Bobs is going, definently meets those requirements. I would personally want them to go where Duluth Hill is going to be built. I also think they would do extremely well if they went into the streetscape at the Miller Hill Mall. Either of the two spaces that are currently open would be perfect for Chipotle. I think they would do well there being so many people shop at the mall, its in the major retail district of Duluth and its also not too far from the colleges.

My preference would have them to be at the mall as that is the place I go the most on the hill. It's also where a lot of college kids work as well as Canadian's shop. I don't think they have one in Canada so it's a perfect place. What do you think would be better - inside or out? Personally I would prefer inside because of the winter months.

They wouldnt go inside sorry to say. They dont do inside mall locations and they also must have an entrance to the exterior of any space they locate in. They wont go in a space where you have to walk through a hallway to get to them. So the only place they would even consider would be the streetscape at the mall. Sorry.

I think it would be cool to have a Chipotle in Canal Park in one of the old buildings. They love renovating spaces and trying to keep as much stuff as possible there that is orginal to the building. I also think another great space for a Chipotle would be out by Heritage Sports Arena and out on London Road. Would people rather have a inline Chipotle or a freestanding location? One of the Chipotles in Rochester is freestanding and it is a very cool building.

Tech Village, Superior Street, also seems like a good location due to the many people who work above it and also the growing night life.

That's because Sherburne (St. Cloud) is part of the Minneapolis Combined Statistical Area, (CSA). Sherbunre Cty. is part of MPLS/St. Paul MSA because it is linked by a commuting corridor. Since so many people commute down I-94 and Hwy 10 to the Cities, St. Cloud has more amenities and shops to appeal to those that want the "in City" lifestyle but do not want to actually live in the city. Whenever, I am in St. Cloud it appears as though it is one big strip mall. Which is one big reason we moved away from Seattle. It's surrounding environs were becoming one big strip with a Starbucks on every corner.

Hey! So I told the owner of a few buildings in Canal Park that he should contact Chipotle about one of his spaces and I was wondering if the space I suggested would be good for Chipotle. He said he would talk to the Minnesota Rep for Chipotle right after I emailed him. The buildings I am talking about are in Canal Park and start with the Liquor and Hells Kitchen building and include everything, including the parking lots, all the way down, and including, the Subway building. I told him to tell Chipotle to locate on the other endcap in the Hells Kitchen building where currently a few small little stores are. If you combine the space that currently is occupied by some stores it turns out to be 2,500 square feet. Just what Chipotle is looking for. Also though the space has exposed brick and timbers which Chipotle loves! Good idea or bad?

Right on the corner of the Kenwood and Arrowhead across from Humble Pie, college kids would go NUTS!
