Default cost of rural property around Duluth

Hello Everyone,

I am considering pursuing a job in Duluth.

I want to eventually purchase a property of about 3-5 acres with a decent home for $175-250k, no more than about a 20 minute drive to work. And the closer the better.

Would that be pretty hard to do in the areas around Duluth? Impossible? Difficult but not impossible? Easy?

It looked like this would be a good place to ask.

Thanks for your input.

You could maybe buy a plot and build on it.. Proctor, Two Harbos and Esko, or maybe even Cloquet would be options then, all within the 20 minute commute.

Persuing the job would probably be the hardest part of the whole experience.

You could by 3-5 acre sites within the city of Duluth and not feel like your even in the city in some parts of Duluth.

Canosia township, Rice Lake, and Fish Lake are all within 15-25 minutes of Duluth. Lakewood or Duluth Township are also good choices.

My family had a 50 acre plot out in Normanna Township which was about a 25 minute drive into town. Rice Lake and Lakewood Townships are great areas and can be very close to town, but still have a good 2 - 10 acres.
