Its 2009, man. I havent used cash for purchases in over 3 years. Of course they accept the cards. Why wouldnt they?

I was just checking man. I figured they would. I was mainly asking if Visa cards were accepted. Isn't that what message boards are for?! To ask questions?! WOW....

It's a valid question, and one that shouldn't necessarily cause such a sharp reaction . However, many people probably will assume from your question that you have an incorrect stereotype of Duluth in your mind. The answer to that sort of question in this day and age is a given, wherever you go. Duluth isn't quite as po-dunk nowhere as many people are lead to believe. I've never bought anything from a store in Duluth (or around Duluth) that didn't accept my Visa Debit Card. The only place not accepting credit cards that I've run in to is a small, family run restaurant in Two Harbors.

Well because here in Iowa, there are many stores that do not accept credit cards. I live in a very small town, so give me a break

Interesting. I've run into a few places here in the Atlanta metro which are cash only (including the first ever Waffle House we visited), and paper checks seem to be discouraged down here by lots of businesses, but in general VISA Debit cards seem to be accepted almost everywhere.

Duluth isn't Iowa, it seems. :-)

Many places around Duluth have stopped taking checks-kinda surprised it has taken this long as 7 years ago when I left Seattle, no one took a check.

Zhung Wha (sp) in the Denfeld Shopping Center is, I think, owned by the same people as Beijing Cafe.

Aluminum Pork, off toppic here, but I can't find my old posting on the white washed used bookstore in old downtown. I ran into my friend, whose parents own the building, and it is still for sale and they have not had any offers thus far. Kinda surprising since the whole block is being redone, but I suppose cash is tough to come buy in this economy right now.

Anyway, come on North and spend some time in Duluth. You may like it enough to stay and go to college-plenty of those around here.
