Default Duluth/Nth Shore Superior - Fall lodging recommendation please

Can anyone recommend a good place to stay for a couple of nights at the end of September to view the Fall colour around the Duluth area please? I know the Fall colour is a moveable feast but we are travelling from the UK so have to take pot luck.

We stay at the Caribou Highlands in Lutsen. They have everything from typical hotel rooms to 3 level/4 bedroom condos available. We like the location and the setting. Blue Fin Bay along the lake is nice too but if the weather is not so nice the breeze off the lake can make it pretty cold.

We have stayed a few times at Superior Shores Resort near Two Harbors and have never failed to have had wonderfuls stays. They have everything from condo rentals (haven't tried) to traditional hotel rooms with varrying ammenities such as patios with grills, balconies, fireplaces and whirlpools. Nice bar with pub fare as well as a dining room with wonderful menu selections. They usually build a bonfire down on the beach each night which is a great way to spend a cool fall evening.

Superior Shores is close to Duluth to make a quick trip in to see the city and port and is also close to Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse and the Superior Hiking Trail. Can't wait to return again.

Default Two Horbors

I've checked out the website and that looks like a very strong contender; thanks for the suggestion! Given that time will be limited, Two Horbors being closer to Duluth is better for us than Lutsen although that looked great too. We will be heading for Pelican Rapids via Brainard after Duluth so don't want to go too far on the East side of the city.
