I'm getting ready to apply for a rewards credit card and I'd really like some advice from those out there who have more experience with this! I'm 20 and will be paying off my balance in full every month. I travel often (a lot of international, and some domestic) so I'm looking for a card that can serve me in this respect.

There are so many options out there that I am getting overwhelmed just reading information on every one. Basically I just want to get the highest amount of air miles per dollar I spend - pretty simple, really . Other rewards would be great if they are offered, but this is my primary concern.

I'd like to avoid an annual fee, but I understand in some cases it might actually be worth it. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks for any help on this matter!!!

I use and like a Citicard Mastercard (Citi Premier Pass) that is hooked into the Thank You network for rewards. You can use the points for many things including air travel, hotels, etc. I like the flexibility it gives me because I can redeem on any airline. I might earn more miles with a dedicated card, but I might not have as much travel flexibility. You'd have to consider what i better for you - volume of miles or more choices.

No annual fee.

I've been using the Capital One Rewards Card for 6 years now. It's free,I charge everything for personal and business on it and have never had any problems with them.I've cashed in several points for free tix and all transaction were smooth, you can fly any airline with no blackout dates. They also have a Venture card which I think gives you 2 points per dollar but there's a fee for that card.
