Maybe you are just one of those people who dont mind paying for those who care not to, not because they are unable to, but because it is easier to let others do it for them.
You have no obligation to reply. But still you felt motivated to give me two responses. Thanks. How long do you reckon this post will keep you up tonight?

I got a feeling I could fathom your generosity & capacity to pay taxes, if I had the time to care. But I don't. It's no fun pointing out the logical inconsistencies of the self-righteous, it's more fun to annoy them.

Again, thanks.

You buy clothes...you pay taxes and the clothes are yours...no more taxes on them...You work 30 years, pay for your house and then you have to rent it from the government....they own it. Don't pay your rent (taxes) and they take what you worked 30 years for....this is socialism at it's finest and we've had it for years

Ain't nothing going to be left for the kid demanding 14/hr. So, yeah, maybe he has reason to have higher expectations, since he will be funding YOUR retirement and his own without any help from SS.

Not sure the time period but there is an economic concept called inflation that might be useful to understanding the situation.

Yup, this is the biggest problem with property taxes. Unless it is a income producing property, you lose money every year to property taxes even IF you paid for the property in cash. No other consumer product is like that. At least with the income tax you come out on top. You walk away with more money than you started with, but property taxes you walk away with less money than you started with. Which is the greatest incentive to never buy property, and if I have my way I never will. I will just rent (which is usually cheaper than a mortgage payment) and I don't pay property taxes, and I don't pay homeowners insurance, and I don't pay for the upkeep (i.e. if a pipe breaks the landlord fixes it). The money I save by not owning a house, I can turn around and invest in something that outpaces inflation (which real-estate doesn't based on 100+ yrs of data). The only large investment that is a worse investment than property is a car (unless the property is income producing, which in that case you don't live there but rent it out or lease it). They both depreciate, but a car depreciates at a much faster rate. You can put thousands of dollars into your house to keep it "up to date," which will allow it to keep pace with inflation.

I would rather invest in something that increases my purchasing power, not maintains it. Of course, if there were no property taxes then I could pay cash for a house and have a guaranteed roof over my head no matter how bad my economic situation got. But since that situation doesn't exist in our country, it makes no sense to do it.

I dont mind putting in our fair share of money if that money was going towards things that are useful. I just hate paying when some or most of the money is going to waste. How much more do we have to put in to keep paying for those who do not work or do not want to work. It realy make me mad when Im told by our accountant that we are getting less money for the child tax credit because of the tax bracket we are in. Hell, we dont make that much money!!! My husband is out there busting his butt working 6 sometimes 7 days a week to support his family and he has to turn around and give his money to help support other familys. And this whole thing with the illegal imigrants is really pissing me off. They can come to our country work here and not pay taxes or give any money back to the US and we are suppose to turn the other cheek. My husband is in the construction business and this type of business is where a lot of the illegals are working and let me tell you they are not stupid they ask for $12-$14 an hour and the construction companys are giving it to them. They make more than a lot of Americans and we get taxes out on top of it. I'm all for giving a fine to any business owner who hires illegals. I heard that the illegals are protesting this. What gives them the right to protest anything YOUR ILLEGAL!!! They should have no say in what laws may or may not be passed. Why should they have any rights at all. And this crap about the americans are only trying to do this so we can discriminate against the Latino's. I have no problem hiring latinos if they are legal. We will not hire illegal imigrants. They need to pay there fair share like the rest of us. Did you know that you do not have to be an american citizen to purchase property in the US. So these illegals can buy a home here legally. I was listening to a radio talk show one morining and a man called in and was talking about marching for the rights of illegal imigrants and he said that he and his family have been living here for 20 years illegally!!! How is that possible. Maybe if every US citizen stopped paying taxes our wonderful legislators would do something.

I can tell you are already upset. Read this carefully and have a drink.

This will make you blood boil when you add it to the mix.

I'm really tired of everyone who is not paying taxes when I do.

Including Tax Protesters that feel because the government doesn't do 100% of what they want they can stop paying taxes.
