Is anyone familiar with this man? This video below does have a sales call at the end, but there is lots of good information in it regardless.

Gah don't click that link the page has one of those annoying "are you sure you want to leave" dealies. It looks like he has videos on youtube, and that he is affiliated with Alex Jones and big on the Economic Implosion of America coming crowd which probably explains how Las Vegas Drunk came across him during his so called research.

Looks like he's a typical scare tactics investment advice peddler, with bonus of being a convicted swindlerr:

Porter Stansberry investments scam fined in SEC fraud action
Quote:
U. S. JUDGE FINES AGORA SUBSIDIARY AND EDITOR $1.5 M FOR SECURITIES FRAUD

An investment newsletter’s publisher and its editor have been hit with $1.5 million in financial penalties after a U. S. federal judge determined they defrauded their own subscribers in a securities scam.

Judgment in favor of the Securities Exchange Commission and against Maryland-based Pirate Investor LLC, now called Stansberry & Associates Investment Research, LLC, and Frank Porter Stansberry was issued at the U. S. District Court for the District of Maryland on August 1, 2007 – 28 months after the completion of a bench trial. The penalty comprises disgorgement of $1.3 million in profits and interest from the fraudulent activity, for which Pirate Investor and Stansberry are jointly and severally liable, plus a fine of $120,000 against each defendant.

U. S. District Judge Marvin J. Garbis found in favor of a third defendant, Pirate Investor’s parent, Agora, Inc., determining that it could not be held liable for the fraudulent statements of its subsidiary simply “by virtue of its ownership and ability to control Pirate”. There was no evidence that Agora, as opposed to Pirate, directly made the false statements at issue, determined Judge Garbis.

The SEC had accused the defendants of fraud concerning a “Special Report” authored by Stansberry, using the pseudonym ‘Jay McDaniel’, about publicly-listed uranium enrichment services provider USEC, Inc. and a promotional “Super Insider Tip Email” offering the Special Report for sale that was distributed on May 14, 2002, after which Pirate Investor sold 1,217 reports for $1,000 each.

The promotional material offered purchasers of the report the opportunity to “double your money” by acting on “inside tips” that Stansberry had obtained from a “senior executive inside the company”, according to the SEC. However, the SEC alleged that the report, which included a claim that Government approval for a lucrative new pricing agreement involving USEC would be announced on May 22, was replete with lies and the judge agreed.

“The Super Insider Solicitation and the Special Report contain numerous statements that were untrue,” he commented. “Some of the untrue statements may not be actionable. [For example, the use of the pseudonym “Jay McDaniel” or even the predictive nature of some statements.] However, the essential fraudulent element – the misrepresentation that the purveyor of the Special Report had a particular inside source for the precise date on which the stock price would rise – is definitely actionable.”

I like the guy already if he's scamming a bunch of doomers. I approve the abuse of the mentally deficient.

Plus he has the nuts to continue it even after being convicted of doing it before.

I love that doomers are still defending their fleecier, that's the kind of dastardly manipulation I am impressed with.

Agora Inc.,CIA,International Money Launderer, Murder Suspect Porter
Stansberry and Alex Jones
by Tony Ryals

When my best friend, Rey Rivera, disappeared last year, we had to find
his car (and then his .... Porter Stansberry Baltimore, Maryland
December 21, 2006 ...'The Baltimore sheriff is after me…'-Porter Stansberry

So Alex Jones,Porter Stansberry and Jared Loughner believe gold is the
solution to U.S.government coeeuption and yet Jones and Stansberry are
beneficiaries of that very corruption. And Porter Stansberry was by his
very admission,a suspect in the murder of his own friend and employee
Rey Rivera. The U.S.SEC itself has admitted that his and Agora Inc.'s
CIA connected Agora Inc.'s Rebound Report that Mr.Rey Rivera was
editor of before his mysterious death and I know from personal
experience that James Dale Davidson's,Porter Stansberry's and Agora
Inc.'s illegal pumps and dumps were covered up and in fact removed
from SEC litigation against Agora by corrupt Utah SEC attorneys Brent
Baker and Karen Martinez - thus guaranteeing that SDtansberry and
Davidson would go free yet again after decades of gold, oil, real estate
and myriad stiock fraud scams against American investors, all of which
sent and continue to send dollars out of the U.S.economy to offshore
accounts of international criminals, albeit elite criminals.

While I dislike overly simplistic definitions or categorizations the
truth appears to me that Jared Loughner was not a ‘liberal’ at all but
definitely a ‘libertarian’ a la Ron Paul’s gang who place gold above
life and think all currency should be backed by gold even though it is
as unreal or more so than paper currency or plastic. In fact the higher
the price of gold per ounce goes the more environmental damage that
will ensue in the mining of gold..You cannot eat it or use it for many
purposes and you have to hide it say under structures such as the
former WTC or I presume in Fort Knox etc. with a military to guard it
24/7.And when it all comes down, you can’t eat gold or even drive a
vehicle with it and if and when a real world environmental crisis goes
down a plate of food will be worth more than gold. Why don’t the
so-called libertarians such as Porter Stansberry,Alex Jones Ron
Paul,et.al. and Pentagon shooter John Bedell and assassin and murderer
Jared Loughner whose 'Libertaian' gun and gold 'philosophy was
influenced by them and other 'libertarians' like them such as Geico
billionaire and Overstock.com con artist Patrick Byrne's colleague Bud
Burrell of Arizona who has threats to torure murder me on
thesanitcheck.com for criticising his penny stock frauds,(that he
erroneously blames on 'nakled short selling'),realise the
environmental damage of useless gold mining and why does that not
matter to them ? And because of threats and intimidations by them and
knowing they have SEC,U.S. government and CIA connections,I believe
they are probably as dangerous as Jared Louighner himself, probably
more so.And because Alex Jones has freely decided to openly associate
and put his name with theirs his incredidibility or extreme lack of
credibility in the area of 9/11,etc.,only grows !

OMG - Just listened to his video after seeing it advertised on CNN where he was credited with correctly predicting the fall of Wall Street in 2008. He made some great points. His voice sounds vaguely familiar. (Wonder where I've heard it before.) I don't understand why CNN would allow people like him to advertise with them unless he was strictly legitimate. Has anyone actually tried this? I would like to hear from people who have actually done business with him.

I subscribe to the newsletter and find it quite informative and thought provoking. The downside is that they are always trying to sell you another "better" newsletter. Agora's publications are the same way.
