Who cares about the logo? That's the last thing that's important to me. The only things I care about are product quality, service and value, and in IMHO, Starbucks doesn't measure up in any of those catagories. Nothing that their marketing people do is going to get me to pay $5.00 for a cup of crappy coffee served with an attitude.

I don't like it.

Their name is no where on the logo. It's too plain .

It reminds me of the New Coke Fiasco of 1985.

Don't fix something that's not broken....

Their name doesn't have to be there. That mermaid is as representative of Starbucks as the crappy music they play in their stores, and the impossibility of finding a free chair or table past the dozens of lounging students with vacuous expressions, toiling away on laptops.

Going to a single colour is a cost cutter for sure. Also, the green looks different, more natural green, less blue in it.
