No one really cares how many hours you work when you're salaried. You get paid weekly, and the hours put in are completely immaterial.
Have you ever worked for a salary instead of hourly? This is statement is naive.
I've worked in salary environment most of my career and I can assure you that most care how many hours you work. In fact many employers have required times of arrival/departure for salaried employees, and I've seen people on salary get in trouble for long lunches, tardiness, and skipping out early.

Not necessarily. A lot of salaried people don't do any actual "work".
Woah don't let that chip on your shoulder break your collarbone. Many hourly employees don't do any actual work either, I don't think either compensation model can lay claim to have more or less lazy people.

Good lord. If you don't actually work, you don't produce results and you don't get promoted.
You work extra, you produce results, you get promoted faster. Get it?
