What exactly is an economic activity? (inflation, economist, exam, electronic)

Hi,

My tutor asked me to write an essay on any economic activity of a country of my choice. I have no idea what economic activity is. Is it like inflation, fiscal policy etc.? I'm desperate, how am I supposed to write an essay on this topic? I'm not an economist.

economic activity is "work or industry undertaken for economic purposes"

Good examples might be:
-The united states builds airplanes, grows corn
-Germany builds automobiles, machine parts
-Japan builds electronics, automobiles
-South Korea builds ships, electronics
-Australia mines ore, and grows wine grapes.

so if i'm understanding correctly, your prof wants you to write an essay on what economic activity some country specializes in.

Do you know what the GDP is?
The things the GDP consists of... are economic activity.

The deal with writing papers though is you have to your own research.
(one hint though: some things get counted twice)
