I have come to US just few months back on H1-B Visa and need to now file my Tax returns but am completely clueless as to how to go about. Few things i am mentioning here that will help experts here to help me better.

1. I have got my W2 Form from my employer.
2. My Taxable Marital status is Married. I think this matters as i need to file something like W7 or ITIN or something for my wife. I have no clue.
3. How to go about filing the tax return, should i file for the ITIN for my wife before i file for the return or both together ??
4. After properly filling and sending everything how much time before i can get my tax returns ?
5. Is there any way to know before hand how much money i will be getting back and how accurate is that figure i am arrive at ??

Since this is your first time, I would go such as H&R Block or some other company who does tax. After the first year, you can do that by your self going with Turbo Tax or some thing like that.

I had a call with IRS customer care and they told me that i fall under the NON Resident Alien category since the number of days i have been in USA in last 3 years is less than 183 (i came to USA for first time on 06th August 2011)
So they told me to file my returns using 1040NR EZ form and also told me that i cannot take any exemption for my wife on my tax return (because i am non resident alien)
