Read through the outrageous numbers in the five extreme categories at the link and see if you don't agree that what we refer to today as "capitalism" in the USA has become an extremist cult.

The Extremist Cult of Capitalism | NationofChange

1. Extremes of Income

2. Extremes of Wealth

3. Extremes of Debt

4. Extremes of Health Care

5. Extremes of Justice

That is a pretty crappy argument against Capitalism. First, the Author compares the tops 5 richest Americans to a waitress hourly rate (which is obviously low because of tips).

Second, it appears the Author has more of a socialist agenda the way he speaks of the "common good".

Even though I disagreed with most, I have heard better arguments from socialist than this Guy.

Its easy to argue Warren Buffet against a waitress.

There has and always will be disparities in income.

In society we used to look up to Guys that built companies with the sweat of their brow, now we ask "Why aren't they paying their fair share?"

The questions should be, "Why is the Government wasting our share?"

The occutards and other socialist should really point their blame to Washington and its cronies. Wall street is just doing what Government is allowing them to do with moral hazard....

I do however agree we waste a ton in the Judicial system prosecuting non-violent criminals.

All these problems exist in almost every country in the world. Even communist countries deal with these problems. You can't really blame capitalism for any of this if communists and socialists are dealing with the problems.

You need to read the title again.

And I'm aware of your hatred for the "common good" -- except, as with most people who oppose the "common good", when you're benefiting from it.

But every other country in the world doesn't praise their own system and themselves as "The Greatest Nation On Earth" like some phony carnival barker cry.

Problems are a way of life. Other modern industrialized nations at least have health care for all, maintain and expand their infrastructure and have far less wage disparity while, again unlike the USA, they spend a tiny fraction of the proposed $614 BILLION the USA spends on their military, using that fortune for more important items than occupying every nation on earth to protect the corporate interests of a few billionaires.

I should have asked proverbs 23 7 what they thought about THAT version of "occutards".

737 U.S. Military Bases = Global Empire | Alternet

With U.S. military bases occupying nations worldwide, how do you feel about the "occutards" in the Pentagon?

Buddy, the good thing about America is that you can leave as easy as you can get out. Well never mind, its probably easier to get in these days because of the bums in Washington.

You my Friend are a Socialist. Its all about "free" for you aint it Pal. America has the best healthcare system in the world. There is reason folks come to America from all over the globe to get treated....I mean if our basic system of capitalism is so bad, why not move? Piers Morgan will give you a ride....

This is by far the easiest country to make a living and build wealth. Anyone can do so if they choose. The problem is that politicians are so hell bent on winning elections that they have created an entire generation of whiny, non innovative bums. There are exceptions.

Unless you are mentally ill or have some type of disability, there is no excuse for being a loser in this country. Do you not think it is degrading that Government thinks it knows whats best for you better than yourself? If not, that explains it. Everyone wants a darn participation trophy whether it is earned or not. Being envious is not healthy.

If society would quit making everyone victims because things are not laid out on a silver platter, we would be a lot better off.

Most People would agree that the system is not perfect, but envy will get you nowhere. I dont know about you, but all I need is an opportunity, not a free ride.

Absolutely, raw capitalism is an extreme, it is detrimental to society,
especially a mature society such as ours in this day.

Yes. Any economic system taken to the extreme is detrimental to society as a whole although very beneficial to a very few. The American people have been conditioned to conflate Capitalism with freedom and country, even the present "raw" form of winner take all Capitalism our system has devolved into.

All around? That's a myth.

That's another myth. With American equality at low, and behind the rest of the 1st world countries, the American dream is on life support, if not already dead.

Or you're a banker. Or some corporation that uses a politician to get government agencies to buy garbage they don't want. Or you use government to subsidize your goods. Or government puts in price floors.

It's not all pretty rainbows.

When people use words like "buddy" its a sign of desperation.

None of the ideologies are good in their pure form. The hybrid is always superior, when hybridized properly.
