The bottom line is that the money which US earns from Foreigners also go into the pockets of Corporates and it doesnt stimulate economy for the Common Man while top 1% will become more and more rich-whether Foreigners come or not.
Tourists spend a lot at local businesses. It does help the service sector. What we need is not just short term tourism. It is long term residence. We may not have a lot of jobs but we do have things wealthy Chinese want. We have blue skies, clean air, beautiful nature, all of which may attract the wealthy to spend money here. We also have a system that respects and protects private wealth and a mature legal system. Many emerging economies don't have that.

Its the same in UK because western real estate is cheap compared to china. People born in cities in china get rental assistance but not if you where born outside city. London last I knew had 20% increase on housing just so far this year;much of ot caused by foreign buyers .40% of buyers of housing last month paid cash in US.

I don't mind international investment in this country. But, teach them manners, assimilation into US culture, and most importantly, how to properly drive a car in the US!

The Left will condemn you for your statement... Anyway.

Diversity is just what it is. America will finally be internationalized and Americans will get to see true diversity of cultures and manners. You can't change people. You have to adapt, especially when they have more financial power.

It's not just food. Well to do immigrants will help increase revenue for schools and universities, create demand for high end services, and spend at our national parks.

We need to establish a hunting season on the international money launderers. Eat them for lunch.

I'd be happy to do a 1:1 replacement of every single illegal immigrant in our country with them.

Yes, we white folks will fit right in their towns. I can already hear white people exclaiming how much they want their towns turned majority Asian and for their kids to be the only white child in classrooms and we can all read the Asian languages they use on business signs. We'll all understand what they're saying and writing and they will welcome us with open arms for employment at their jobs. All they need is an English speaking white guy to work for one of their newspapers, magazines, TV shows, banks, and financial services businesses.

Makes sense.
