U.S. Congress approves $225M for Iron dome (2014, debt, borrow)

When we are having large deficits and US is still in recession and in growing debt every year, where does Congress find money to authorize emergency funding..

Congress cannot pay for border control and yet is ready to pony up money for Iron dome. Is it time for a constitutional amendment to put some controls on such emergency funding?

The money is an advance on the grant that gets paid to them in a few months and will most likely be deducted from it.

Rather $225 million to Israel than $2 billion for housing illegal immigrants in our country who should not be here anyways...

Anyhoo, the technology for Iron Dome is being shared with DoD and targeting algorithm will probably come in handy someday for our armed forces.

With $18 trillion and debt and counting, $225 million is less than a drop in the bucket.There is plenty of waste in government so why single out this expenditure for scrutiny? The answer: this is a politics question masquerading as an economics issue.
