The methodology should be sharpened some, but basically, the threshold is the income level required so that 30% of it will enable one to purchase a diet that provides minimum levels of basic nutrition. When Congress appropriates more money, it is generally because more people have fallen below that threshold.

Fear and anxiety are permanent staples of American life, the life build by design around fear and axiety of many to satiate a few. I dont care who's president, I remember Clinton "boom", people were paranoid back then as they are paranoid now, it is American way.

Wrong about what? This is the best economic news I've heard in awhile.

If this trend continues, US$ value should decline, interest rates rise, and domestic production increase.

The not-a-point-at-all was a badly fumbled response to the actual point that it was his beloved "free market" that sent signals to Monsanto that it was time to cut 2,600 employees. They didn't do it to deprive anybody of liberty and freedom.

It's been the right-wing way for generations. They need to keep the base riled up and in a constant state of fear and turmoil. Communists, women, liberals, atheists, Muslims, immigrants -- somebody is always out there trying to to get you according to the right-wing.

China now needs to use dollars to support its sort-of-floating yuan. That's all that is happening. They are likely to need about $50 billion per month to keep things roughly static. Where do you think all those dollars will go next?

Perhaps there are still some characters who are afraid of a papal conspiracy. But I was talking about permanent American fear and anxieties centered around getting/keeping jobs, paying bills, being accepted, getting sick/hurt, pregnant, sued, the list is fairly long, everything is conditional and transient, perfect breeding ground for anxiety and mind altering industries, Clinton or Obama.

Time for -- THE NANNY STATE!!! Guaranteed protection from anything that could possibly harm you. Except for the fact that the nanny state is exactly what the Fear-People so love to rail against. Make sense of that, if you can.

I think people's anxieties have much more to do with a hanful corporations monopolizing job market, and life in general. Job performance databases and such, once blacklisted, always blacklisted, no longer one can go to a shop next door and get a job, it is Wal-Mart, Cargill, etc. from sea to shining sea, one must behave and adjust himself always, self censorship, uniformity and general fakeness of everything reached the levels openly totalitarian states could not achieve. Needless to say, it doesnt make people any less anxious.

Think how bad it would be if any of what you say were true.
