not just the democrats. It's a NATIONAL problem. Every-god-dam where you look, someone is putting out there "needs" and expecting good people to part with hard earned money. For whatever reason. Amerika simply cannot say no to consumption. Be it truly helping out a family who's lost everything, or someone who's filling their house with abandoned animals and wants YOU to help him/her do it, to the amateur "filmmaker" and his little kickstarter campaign.

it's ridiculous. this obsession with thinking all of us are supposed to contribute isn't socialism, it's communism.

So, go ahead, my politically correct, liberal idiot fellow posters....Let's hear your bleeding heart sob story as to why we are needing to constantly reach in our thin pockets to assist, fund, help, whatever....

It's not that we ever had a vote or plebescite on the amount of power we give to government. The super-rich just took control of governed by inserting and buying off their puppet politicians and then began passing laws to benefit the ultra-wealthy class. They use defense or the poor as the marketing pitch but ultimately it is about taxing the middle class and funneling the money to the wealthy. The whole gun industry is a beautiful case in point. The NRA is nothing more than a lobbyist for the arms industry. Ditto for the AMA and the medical industry.

This is not communism not is it socialism. It is the end product of monopolistic capitalism where the super-rich have seized control of government. It is an Oligarchy, exactly what they have in Germany, Russia, China, and most other countries in this world. All of these government programs are dreamed up by the marketing people for major corporations as a way of funneling more and more money to the super-wealthy. You blame the poor who have zero political power. The schemers are in the executive offices.

I do not wholly disagree with you. Calling this an oligarchy was pretty spot on. I stand corrected. Makes me question why a Trump needs to be the President, or a Clinton.

Just more of the same.

Well one party wants to cut spending and cut welfare the Republicans. Thats why Republicans keep telling the idiot sheep voters that they are the party of small government.

Yet these idiots can't even differentiate between a liberal and a conservative.

So it isn't the same

Because when someone is in need, it's the right thing to do.

If you don't feel that way, fine, you're entitled to your feelings. Me, I just feel a different way. And at the end of the day, I go home with myself, not you. I'm the one I have to live with.

I'm not religious, but I do believe we will either be rewarded for how we act in this life or be treated as we treated others in this life. When my life is at an end, I don't want to stand and say that I saw need and did nothing. Or that I saw misery and turned my back and walked away. Even if you can't do anything, you can at least care.

But that's just me. You do what suits you.

To be fair, obesity is actually the sign that you're poor. If you're poor, there's no way you have access to any of the refined food with less fat and all, so automatically, you do become obese.

To think that this is a sign that they're not starving or that they're not in need is a dangerous thought. It just means that they eat really unhealthy food.

I agree, I said this before..white bread or tortillas are cheaper than salmon crudo and it's real hard to cook nutritious meals if you rent a weekly room in a motel.

- Go on Facebook and you will see "Lil Man Man" with a bunch of $20 bills spread out on a table talking about "he's balling", when the truth is those $20 bills spread out over the table is just about everything that Lil Man Man has. He has no bank account, no stable car, no stable home, nothing.

- Go to the inner city where it's poverty galore, and you will see Lil Man Man walking around wearing $350 Jordans.

The welfare poor buy these items so that they can LOOK like they are well-off, because they know damn well they will never BE well off by any standards.

Yes,many do buy feel good products. because they may work hard for little money. They have nothing that gives them good feelings. A person with resources can easily wait on the newest model because they do not need to stave off depression. That $15 per hour job is not going to pay rent and food and have investment money left over.
