What employer would want to pay a 14 year old trying to start out with a summer job $15 an hour? I think of this minimum wage hike really happened we would see some nice things go away, like our amusement park here that hires hundreds of seasonal employees, mostly young people that don't have to support themselves, some as young as 14 and some retired people just looking for something to do. I think the owner would close it down.
Where is your real world located? In my real world bean counting and cost/benefit analysis run supreme. In my real world everybody is disposable and loyalty is a silly word. Employers are willing to pay X in wages, freeze wages for Y years, and cut perks and benefits to meet some targets. Those are priorities, if they are not able to retain competent workers, they will do with less competent ones to achieve 1, 2 or 3, luckily most jobs are dumbed down and de-skilled, it is relatively easy to set up revolving door operations. But guess what? Where would more competent workers go? Most of employers do 1,2, 3 themselves, and at some point a competent worker would have to take what they are willing to give.
And largely the only way to give everyone a raise is to use the minimum wage.
I look forward to patronizing such a fast food restaurant.
Not sure who wouldn't want an automated experience.... I would love to not deal with a person. Most chain restaurants are already doing this with automated systems to pay and order basic items.

Yes, I noticed this at two local restaurants, Red Robin and BJs. At the latter, you can order ahead of time for takeout or eat-in, and can pay from your table on the phone using their app rather than wait for the server.
I said teens work part time not businesses pay attention
And you completely missed the point of his post.
