Move out of the Bay area and housing is much more affordable. Move one state over and houses are a fraction of what they are in the Bay area. If living in the Bay area is that important to you, then don't complain about the price of housing. It's simply a function of supply and demand.

What about the millions of undeveloped acres in the Bay Area?

Define "produce". What if society made up solely of the producers like Trump? Capitalist nirvana? It is not a matter of production it is a matter of control or resources. Within capitalist patadigm the poor cannot "produce" to serve their modest needs directly. The poor must be utilized by the rich to get access to the resources. Racket works in the same way.

They're obviously undeveloped for a reason and not available for housing expansion at this time. So your choice is to pay a mil point five or move to a lower COL area where houses are more affordable.

There can be any number of reasons. But your reality is pay one point five mil or move. Those are your two choices right now if you want to own a home. The rest is irrelevant and no amount of bitching is going to change that.

Or donate time: Become a Big Brother or Big Sister. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. I give the program two thumbs up.

If she gets married, she doesn't get those goodies. It wouldn't be rational to get married.
Yes indeed. People respond to incentives.

"Bitching" brought us the civil rights movement. Good things can come from "bitching".

$1.5M might be the entry price point for a family needing a SFH with good schools and an easy commute to the City or Silicon Valley, but for a young single guy it is way high.

1100 square foot condo in the most expensive part of the city, $899,000, https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sal...72_rect/14_zm/

700 square foot, Telegraph Ave area of Berkeley, $400K, https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sal...03_rect/11_zm/
