High end luxury malls, where shoppers think nothing of spending thousands on a suit or watch, for example, will probably continue to do well. Your standard issue, middle class suburban malls will continue to fail.

I'm surprised by the two NH malls.... is it because of the tax free shopping in NH?

It's insane that Aventura, and Ala Mona have such high per square footage considering they are such large malls. Bal Harbour is about to expand so I don't think they see their sales sliping anytime soon.

Mall of America is noticeably missing from this list as it has been touted as a big tourist attraction.

Also, noticeably missing area Lennox Square in Atlanta and the Galleria in Houston.

Collective groups of stores have been with us since the first cities, and will likely last as long as quasi-civilization does. It's a good bet that most of these ten have characteristics that will keep their lights on long after many suburban malls have been converted to warehouses.
