Metromiles car insurance commercials have my curiosity. It's suppose to be great rates for people who don't use much mileage.

Does anybody here have it...if so what make model and year car do you have and how much is the monthly fee?

I do. I have a pretty new, fairly pricey car and pay about half (actually closer to 40%) of what I was paying when I used regular insurance.

It really depends on how much you drive though, but I don't think I've ever topped $50 even in months when I've used my car quite a bit.

Customer service has also been very responsive, although I've never had to file a claim.

I looked into it and the price was 300% what I normally pay. I have an outstanding driving record and drive about 100 miles a week. So I'm not sure if you need to never drive for it to be affordable?

Not to mention the coverage rates were 15/30/5 when I currently have 100/300/100 coverage. So to sum up, 10% of the coverage for 300% the cost. No thanks.

A close friend of mine (recently retired) has been using it for the past 15 months, since he is driving a lot less. He is now driving a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE, driving about 300 miles a month. His monthly billl is $50 a month for similar coverages that he had with his old insurance. He mentioned that the customer service is “hit or miss”, some of the agents he talked to were “clueless”.
