After reading this thread, I plan to solve this inheritance problem by spending my money or my kid’s inheritance, so there will be no bickering when I’m gone. What’s left would be my paintings of favorite vacation spots I’ve been with my husband. The memory will be priceless.
I hope I can stick to the plan.

As far as answering OP’s question. I did mind when my mom gave one of my sibling, or my sister more money when she passed away, my sister is single, so never got the benefit of double income. But if she gave it to my other brother, whose wife I don’t care for, maybe I would have a problem. But my mom also had problem with that SIL, so that’s it’s in theory only.
