I'm really not that interested. It's just a diversion. Everyone should have a dream, and though I'd honestly rather not see you fail, I think you probably will.
For instance, even if you could have a porta potty delivered and replaced on a regular basis, it would probably cost you more than staying in your apartment until you could save enough to do this thing right.
BTW, when you first started in on your plan to be "homeless by choice" — your words — you weren't clear that you'd be living on land that you bought. I'm not sure why you would even call that "homeless by choice."
You don't have to live in an HOA to be required to adhere to the zoning laws and ordinances specific to your location.
6.26.030 Prohibited uses.
(1) Unless a waiver is granted in accordance with WMC 6.26.060, the use of self-contained portable toilets in lieu of connection of a site or facility to the City’s sanitary sewer system is prohibited.
Even if you were able to get a waiver, which is doubtful, the expense just doesn't make sense. Neither does living in your car with nowhere to cook, unless you just eat food straight out of cans.

Sadly, the cost of housing in many areas is well above a lot of people's ability to pay for it. Even well-educated and compensated professionals have to room together in some cities. The lower paid service workers (which makes up the bulk of jobs) have no chance.
If the lot you bought is worth $150,000, sell it and use the money to rent or buy a cheaper house.
I paid $33,000 for the lot. What I actually said was that lots with manufactured houses on them with septic, water, and electric go for $150,000 give or take a little. I'm not trying to flip my lot, but in five years time, it should be worth that much if I get everything done on it that I plan to. I'm actually really excited to have the lot.

Does anyone know anything about housing in Europe? I believe they've also had a severe shortage of housing going back more than forty years?

By manufactured home do you mean double wide or conventional type home?
