Most teachers make plenty of money. It's tough for me to feel for those who make 80K for 9 months out of the year. Sure, there are outliers, but most are paid an above average salary.

The true underpaid individuals are in pre-k and daycare. Those jobs, while rewarding, are very difficult and the teachers in those positions are vastly underpaid. They are the ones who deserve more attention.

Generally teachers are paid what they are worth to society within reason. However, virtually every teacher in the country has a degree most adults do not ergo teachers, generally speaking, should earn more than average.
