How do you calculate earned per hour question (salary, $50,000, work)

How do you calculate a earned rate per hour for a given total earned per year? E.G. work 40 hours and earn 50k per years.
I found some pay rate calculators but they all require how much earned per hour.

I would just divide the annual salary by 2080, which is the number of hours a full-time employee works per year.

$50,000/2080=$24.04 per hour

To convert an annual salary, divide it by the number of hours you worked. Assuming your schedule is regular on a week-by-week basis, it's:

1. # of hours per week (times) 52 (equals) annual hours. (For 40-hour workers, this is 2080.)
2. annual salary (divided by) annual hours (equals) hourly rate.

Okay. I wasn't sure. Sometimes people like to joke around on-line. When figuring out an hourly rate, you just need to divide the salary by the hours worked over the course of the year.

So if you work 40 hours per week, you'll divide the salary by 2080, or 40 hours per week multiplied by 52 weeks. For 50 hours per week, you'll divide the salary by 2600, or 50 hours per week multiplied by 52 weeks.

Yes, you'll likely have some vacation in there, but it generally doesn't matter when calculating hourly rate.
