I started a full-time job in August, and was told my income would be X amt. from August 2018 to August 2019, divided into 24 payments. Prior to August, I was still in school and only my wife was working full-time.

I am trying to adjust my two-earners worksheet. When determining the highest paying job and the lowest paying job between myself and my spouse, should I only consider from when I started the job to the end of December for my gross? If so, it makes a difference as to what I list under Table 2 on the Two-Earners worksheet.

For some, this answer may seem obvious, but this is the first time I am filing jointly with both of us working full-time.

It may be easier for you to use the IRS's on-line W-4 Calculator to arrive at what you need to claim on the W-4

It is at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/irs-...ing-calculator
