Well, were going to pay more for our domestic mail, why shouldn't china pay more too?

It all gets passed on to the end consumer.

Which might cause consumers to consume less shipped goods and may increase "sneaker retail" ( walking into a store).

Trump wins again -- another good call. Buy locally or don't buy at all.

Oh? Has the Trump family ceased all production in China or is that only for other people?

I really dislike the tariffs that have been imposed and are being proposed. I think its bad policy to purposefully erect trade barriers that profoundly affect the global supply chain. That said, I think this is a good change. There is no logical reason that tax-payers should subsidize parcel delivery from China while domestic shippers have to pay their own freight. Just as erecting trade barriers is bad policy, so to is subsidizing foreign producers.

Its a shame that everything is so partisan, people won't criticize Trump's bad policies and praise the good ones.

The title of this thread is misleading. Trump announced his intent to withdraw the US from the UPU treaty, a process that will take a year and likely require senate approval. It is his opening position in a future negotiation. It is also not a bad idea, because the USPS is incurring a lot of unreimbursed costs.

Very misleading post. Also where is the proof that prices are going to rise?

From the article that the OP posted:

Quote:
but the Postal Service and business groups applauded the action Wednesday.
No where in that article does it state prices are going to rise.

If this was directed at my post, please explain as I did not say prices would rise.
