I have always been a law abiding citizen. The laws aren't perfect, but they are generally there for a purpose. It can take longer, but following the law allows that unforeseeable events in the future are not suddenly off course with the flowing logic our country's laws. We have a very deep and meaningful body of law that governs our country. This is good in so many ways.

This framework of law had been structured around Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The latter point was changed, because initially the alliteration would have been complete with Life, Liberty and Land....but that presented legal problems at the time. At any rate, the United States has always stood as the place where you should be able to freely live your life, which nobody can unlawfully take away from you, in the freest form possible. You can openly complain about the government. You can assemble to voice your complaints. You can remain armed if your community is being persecuted. You cannot be arrested for no reason etc. That life and liberty are pretty amazing, but the founding fathers were also wise enough to know that a key piece of that is land...ownership rights. You have the right to own property here.

China, despite its booming economy (where 6% growth as seen with paralyzing fear) doesn't grant its citizens the right to own anything. There are strict controls on currency leaving the country. You basically have the right to make money and develop the country for the country. Further, you can't criticize the government that is making all of the decisions. You have no real opportunity to change the government. If the government wants you dead, you're dead.

Our freedoms, even as we fight amongst ourselves, are the envy of the world. Sometimes people wonder why poor people may vote Republican, and the reasons can be varied, but from the economic standpoint a socialist framework would forever cement their family in poverty for generations to come. They haven't forgotten the immigrant dream of coming to American, and sacrificing in their generation for the generation that follows. Innovation in a socialist regime stops. This is the best it will ever be and we're find consuming today and never allowing progress for our children.

This is why socialism always fails. If you look at the definition of socialism, it seeks to undermine ownership of private property. Also, socialism never comes out initially stating exactly what it is going to do, but uses promises of socialism light so well meaning people will consider it. Here in the US, the socialist party has been established for over 100 years, but it's sponsoring candidates to run in the Democrat party. It's infecting a healthy liberal host like the virus it is. Historically if you read about how it came to power, the script of this is very old. You can promise anything to people because once you come to power, the people will become powerless to do anything.

Once the socialist knocked of the Czar, did suffering end in Russia? Once the socialists took over in China, did suffering end in China? Did Ireland become the Celtic Tiger before or after it abandoned its socialism?

Capitalism isn't perfect, but when you start putting it in combination with other laws and social frameworks, it does ok. Socialism has 0 wins. It simply doesn't work. Worse, it takes away the freedoms of people to try something else when things don't work. When allowed to run full course, people die. Lots of people die. What happens when the flames of freedom on the city on the hill are extinguished, and the advanced weaponry of a once free people is turned on the citizens and remaining free nations?

Proponents of socialism really need to understand what they are encouraging. You're not going to get anyone free healthcare, housing or proper education by voting socialist. Those promises have always been hollow. Don't be the child that gets into the stranger's dark van with the promises of free candy.

I personally think that within a short time, the rich would be wealthy again and the poor would be poor again. It is not what you make, but how you manage the money you have. So unless they had a crash course, they would continue making the same choices that put them in the poor house previously.
I completely agree with you.

China's economy is basically a Potemkin village. They cook their economic books and their growth has chiefly come through massive, unsustainable borrowing, malinvestment, and wholesale intellectual property theft. The chickens are coming home to roost even as I type this.

In fact, the measures against currency flight is one of the most significant tells of this problem. If the Chinese economy was truly in good shape, why are Chinese millionaires trying to get their money out of the country into safe havens?

The problem with money is that there is never enough of it one way or another.
if the population had a dollar per person , what happens when some one is born ?
It all is thrown in to imbalance .
Life is not fair , not in the animal world nor in human kind.
The ambitious find ways to ensure their security ,the slothful do not.
If people are given the opportunity to better them self, and act on it, while others prefer to play, who is at fault ?

In a free market society we have those that choose poverty and those that choose wealth.
Even poor people have risen to better them self and wealthy have fallen into poverty.
If one chooses to be foolish with their resources ,is society responsible ? NO

I help people and animals in trouble ,but it is not my debt to do so .nor do they have the right to demand it of me .but it is my right that they are beholden to me ,sacrificing my resources.

Neither should any people have the right to demand charity of the government, forcibly taking it from the taxpayers.
