There's a place for cheap shoes, but as any Target has about the same selection and price...

I'm unhappy about this. This is where I've been buying my kids shoes for years. They have reasonable prices, and a good selection. No they don't last the longest, but with kids feet growing like they do, I was needing to buy new shoes every year anyway. Oh well. Guess I'll just get their shoes at famous footwear and pay a ton more. Boo.

For women who have size 10+ feet, Payless was the only retailer carrying those sizes with any stylish selection in many areas.

Ebay, Amazon, and the internet claim another victim. In general, most shoe stores will probably be closing eventually.

You just can't compete with the endless selection and prices of online retail products.

Thrift stores and garage sales.

Your kids aren't the only ones who outgrow their shoes before they wear them out, so there are probably lots of nice pairs to be found. Yes, they're used, but they're also probably of higher quality, or they would have ended up in the trash.

It's not surprising. Retail is a tough space and the store failed to differentiate in a meaningful way,
