Isn't that kind of like asking why anyone can't be an A-list actor or best-selling author?

I like to travel, but have never been interested or engaged in any travel vlogger. They would be more entertaining if things going wrong were pointed out sometimes....or some less-savory aspects of wherever they are.

It's just like any other celebrity figure. Just think how much TV or talk shows hosts make to spout off their views for a few hours. Some magic combination of talent, looks, personality, timing, and plain dumb luck aligns in a way that makes someone immensely popular and successful. Just because you see someone doing it doesn't mean anyone can do it. But go ahead and give it a shot. Who knows? You might be that one in a million, too.

Clearly some do though or they wouldn't be making a lot of money doing it. It takes a certain "star" type personality to get a following, many can't get one or don't have the wherewithal to do what it takes to have a successful channel. It's more like a 24/7 job.

Every job gets old after a while. I'd hate to have traveling get old.

You have to be attractive, already well known for something else or entertaining/funny with a great video editor/producer. Lots of hidden costs/advantages not being shown on camera.

I watch travel content primarily for cultural and historical information about the destination, their videos may be replete with glamorous shots but lacks any sort of informational depth. Also I find their personalities highly annoying rather than likeable. Obviously I am in the minority in my opinion due to the immense popularity of their channel but to each his own. Sure, they may have almost 3M subscribers. but so does the bimbo who shakes her ass on TikTok.

Same could be said of most reality TV shows like the Kardasians or most of the youtube vblogs, etc. Almost all very annoying shallow people and pointless shows. Yet those are types of shows that attract the most viewers. The average person apparently is very simple thinking and easy to amuse and to paraphrase George Carlin half the people are even worse than that.
