Maybe they read my post (above) and understand the damage high salaries can do. Before the current, financially careful US soccer league, MLS, came along, all other big soccer leagues failed in America largely because teams paid star players (like Pele) too much.

Please don't use your PhD to help corporations and the wealthy avoid paying their share of taxes. Americas cupboards are becoming bare due to tax evasion. And you'll be continuing socialism for the rich and capitalism for everyone else.

Regarding "avoiding" taxes:

“Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the treasury. There is not even a patriotic duty to increase one's taxes. Over and over again the Courts have said that there is nothing sinister in so arranging affairs as to keep taxes as low as possible. Everyone does it, rich and poor alike and all do right, for nobody owes any public duty to pay more than the law demands.”
~ Judge Learned Hand

Tax "evasion" is illegal. If you're accusing TaxPhd of committing a crime, please produce evidence.

How much is a wealthy persons “share of taxes”? Be specific.

Because some wealth is more fair than other wealth (in their eyes). Sort of like George Orwell's Animal Farm, where some animals are more equal than others. I find it interesting how athletes, celebrities, and lottery winners always get a pass from the "Wealth Hate" crowd. And this "Wealth Hate" is not just directed at the very wealthiest, but also at middle income earners who through a combination of hard work, persistence, living frugally, and saving and investing, have become millionaires.

At minimum what the current tax code requires for their income level. Granted that code is very gentle on the super wealthy and leads to a burden on the middle class. And parking money overseas to avoid taxes is bad for America and the world as well. The country has too much unproductive income, it even devalues the stock market.

You almost got that right. It’s not “at a minimum” as if there is an expectation for more, but rather the least amount required by law. You’re is no expectation, reasonable or otherwise, for anyone to ever pay more than that minimum amount.

Nope. The super wealthy pay the majority of income taxes in this country. The Code is most certainly not “gentle” on them.

US citizens are taxed on their worldwide income.

But there are so many ridiculous write-offs and other ways to avoid paying taxes. That's why the tax code is so complex because it helps the rich with their hired CPAs find laughable write-offs.

Your head is in the sand on tax havens and cheating globally.

And I guess you are fine with Amazon.com and other behemoths devastating small businesses and retail, stripping small towns of value while getting as many tax credits as they pay in taxes!

The American worker is demoralized these days but you are concerned with the fat cats apparently.

Tell us all about these ridiculous write offs that are only available to the wealthy. I’ll wait while you research it. . .

I am fine with Amazon, and any other company competing as effectively as they can. You should be fine with it as well.

Lol!! You’ve got nothing. You spout off about “ridiculous write offs,” but when challenged, you wilt. You’re a joke.
