Two credit unions have failed in our neighboring state of Connecticut - one in New London, one in Meriden. The New London failure involved a suicide (?!). At least with a bank, we find out by 6:30 pm from the FDIC. These two happened back in July, and only just coming to light now:

OK, here's some more for you! Five large US credit unions [including another one in CT] are reporting big paper losses on mortgage-related securities:
