Yeah, well, we all knew it was going to happen, no?
I'm just glad they got concessions and some accountability, rather than just carte blanche for $700 b of our money. Fortunately, congresspersons also pay taxes!

Alright boys and girls, the some of you that wanted this 700 billion got it. Now I don't want to hear any b!!ch'!n if/when inflation goes up. I will feel very little pity for alot of the people out there. I will even feel less pity for those of us that knew better and decided not to write our local congressmen/woman and protest this piece of disaster legislation.
As I'm sure as you read this you can see that I'm bitter...........but not because I know it will cost me personally in the end...........And yeah, I'm sorry to say your taxes will go up no matter who get in office.......we do have to eventually pay our national debt. Not to mention inflation and what it will cost all of us to buy imported commodities.
No. That's not why I feel bitter...it more the fact that this type of short term quick fix show how weak and shortsighted the American character has become. It's quite sad really. I think we just threw away our future economic growth (a lot of our earning potential) in order to stop some supposedly dramatic losses now.
This is not a good move for our nation and it make we angry that the same attitude of "I/we need it now!" that got us to this state is still controlling our American psyche. We have plainly seen that this type of "mental/societal disorder" is causing the U.S. great harm, but we still refuse to deal with our fundamental problem that we have gotten away from the fundamentals of economics.
As I said earlier some of you got what you wish for. But something tell me you going to regret that wish.
Like I had said more than once it was fate acompli, it was going to happen no matter what the public said. The devil's in the details so it remains to be seen how this shakes out and even though I was leaning towards the bailout in principal it may be so messed up that even the most liberal people will not like it.
We'll see...
The answer to all of this should be that we vote all and I mean all the incumbents OUT OF OFFICE but alas party politics prevent people from voting with common sense and instead follow the party line.
First it should be determined what it would take to keep things solvent - nothing more - and that's all that gets paid. Above that, people sit and take their deserved haircut. Risk is risk. Next thing they'll be bailing out people at the craps tables in Vegas every time they seven out.
I work hard, always pay my debts, pay my taxes, never late with my bills, never took unemployment(even when I could), never been on welfare, if I couldn't afford it I didn't get it, and a hand shake is all you would need from me.
Now why should I continue?
I guess I am a fool.
